Information Sharing and Dissemination

Program Brief

WIOMN enhances the production and dissemination of scientific knowledge and practical information on mangrove ecosystems to support evidence-based conservation and management.

Current projects directly contribute to this programme by generating and sharing knowledge products. For example, the RECOS project supports the development of a regional mangrove monitoring and assessment manual, which compiles data, case studies, and best practices from across the Western Indian Ocean and is disseminated through workshops, webinars, and regional forums. The Bengo Project further contributes by developing databases on mangrove resources and sustainable livelihood practices, as well as documenting lessons learned and best practices for wider sharing among stakeholders.

Through these initiatives, WIOMN ensures that information generated from field projects is transformed into accessible knowledge that can inform policy, research, and practice across the region.
