WIOMN delivers structured training programmes aimed at building the technical and practical capacities of stakeholders involved in mangrove conservation and management.
This programme is implemented through targeted training activities within WIOMN projects. Under the RECOS project, training sessions are conducted for mangrove managers and practitioners on standardized monitoring techniques, supported by training materials and field demonstrations. In the Pemba Channel project, WIOMN trains communities and marine protected area managers on mangrove restoration planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Additionally, the Bengo Project delivers community-level training on sustainable mangrove use and supports entrepreneurship training for alternative livelihoods linked to mangrove conservation.
These initiatives ensure that stakeholders gain practical, hands-on skills that can be directly applied in managing and conserving mangrove ecosystems.
